Hero MotoCorp, a leading two-wheeler manufacturer, continues to cement its position as a premium brand with its Vida sub-brand. Vida is expanding its presence in the electric two-wheeler market, introducing the V2 lineup and VX2 electric scooters. With EICMA on the horizon, Hero Vida has teased four exciting new electric bikes. Let’s dive into the details.
Following the successful launch of the Vida VX2 in India, the Vida brand is proving itself as more than just an electric scooter manufacturer. Hero Vida has teased four new electric bike models, and technically, there are five new electric motorcycles visible in the latest teasers. These include models under the Ubex brand, along with the Dirt-E, VXZ, and Nex. Let’s explore each one.
The Vida Dirt-E is designed for adventure enthusiasts who love mudding. This electric dirt bike features a robust electric powertrain. The teaser shows the Dirt-E navigating muddy terrain, suggesting it could be the production version of the previously showcased Lynx Concept. With its rugged design, the Dirt-E is poised to appeal to off-road lovers.
Hero Vida has teased two models under the Ubex nameplate. The first model appears to be close to production, boasting premium features such as USD telescopic front forks and a roadster design with a mid-mounted motor and belt drive. This model is set to offer a blend of performance and style.
The second Ubex model is a futuristic supermoto featuring a composite chassis and a hollow rear sub-frame. While this design is impressive, it is less likely to reach production in its current form.
After the VX2, Hero Vida introduces the VXZ, dubbed “Project VXZ.” The teaser images indicate that this model is close to production. The VXZ shares the signature LED DRLs and projector headlight seen in the V2 and VX2 scooters. With a more muscular silhouette, the VXZ is anticipated to be Vida’s flagship electric motorcycle.
The Nex concept teased by Hero Vida presents intriguing details although a full silhouette hasn’t been revealed yet. The teaser shows two wheels – one equipped with a disc brake and the other with a hub motor. Another front wheel appears, hinting at a 3W electric scooter, similar to the Sway Trike concept.
This 3W electric scooter is expected to feature two front wheels with independent suspension and dual front disc brakes. It could either be the previously showcased Sway Trike or an enhanced version. Trike scooters are popular in Europe, with brands like Yamaha, Piaggio, and Peugeot catering to this niche market.
Hero Vida’s innovative approach and these new teasers highlight the brand’s commitment to expanding its electric two-wheeler portfolio, offering options for various rider preferences and needs.
