Renowned Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, Vinfast, is poised for a significant breakthrough in the Indian EV market. The company has established a manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, with an annual production capacity of 50,000 units. Vinfast has already introduced the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs in India and is now accelerating its portfolio expansion with the introduction of a third electric model, the Limo Green.
Following the successful launch of two electric SUVs, Vinfast is set to introduce an electric 7-seater MPV in the Indian market. Named Limo Green, this upcoming electric MPV has begun testing in India, as evidenced by recent spy photos. The Limo Green will mark Vinfast’s third electric offering in India and its first 7-seater vehicle.
Vinfast Asia Chief Executive Officer, Pham Sanh Chau, has confirmed that the third Vinfast product for India will be the Limo Green, with an expected launch around February. In India, the Limo Green will be positioned in the same category as the VF 6 and VF 7 SUVs, unlike its separate positioning in global markets.
Upon launch, the Vinfast Limo Green will compete with other 7-seater electric MPVs such as the Kia Carens Clavis EV and the BYD eMAX 7. With India’s increasing EV penetration, Vinfast aims to establish itself as a major player in this growing market. The company also plans to enter India’s electric scooter segment and launch its ride-hailing service, Green and Smart Mobility (GSM).
The Vinfast Limo Green features a three-row seating layout, offering flexibility and ample space. Measuring 4.74 meters in length and boasting a 2,840 mm wheelbase, the Limo Green’s size and space will be its primary advantages over competitors.
The vehicle boasts a striking road presence, highlighted by LED lighting, large alloy wheels, body cladding, and a spacious glass area. Inside, the Limo Green will include a 10.2-inch infotainment screen and a well-organized dashboard. Expected features encompass a 360-degree camera, flexible seating arrangements, digital instrumentation, climate control, keyless entry, push-button start, and advanced telematics.
Powering the Vinfast Limo Green is anticipated to be a 60.1 kWh battery pack, driving a 201 bhp electric motor that delivers 280 Nm of peak torque. The Limo Green will feature a front-wheel-drive setup and is expected to offer a range of approximately 450 km on a single charge. It will support fast charging, enabling a 10–70% charge in just 30 minutes.
Vinfast’s strategic moves position it as a strong contender in India’s evolving electric vehicle landscape.
